Something in the Air

It would be an understatement to say that people are excited here at the World Meeting of Families. To a casual observer it would not be so easy to realize why. You might think it is because of Pope Francis’ visit in the coming days. You might think that it is because of speakers like Bishop Robert Barron or Scott Hahn. But if you take the time to talk to some people, you will find out the real reason for the excitement. For some are going home on Friday, the day before the Pope arrives in Philly. And Bishop Barron has already given the keynote address and he is leaving too. But someone is here and he is staying and he is the cause for all the smiles on the faces in the crowd. Jesus is the reason for all this. And the Catholic Church is alive and well in America.
